Walnut seemed the perfect wood for this modern coffee table commission.  The warm tones and consistent grain set up the perfect background for this large surface with its subtle shaping.   The two legs push up above the work surface and anchor the non seating sides of the table like hills emerging from a flat plateau.  The edge faceting softened the edge which satisfied the clients desire for an inviting table that people would want to slide into without the threat of pointy edges
