The show dates back to the 1950&#8217;s and the amazing artists who have lived and worked in the Hamptons. Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Ibram Lassaw, Willem de Kooning and my father, Manoucher Yektai, have graced the walls of The Springs Invitational. I am not sure where the early shows were held but funds from the sales of artworks helped build the current building, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ashawagh-hall.org\/index.php\">Ashwagh Hall<\/a>. The current shows raise money for the Springs Improvement Society, the SIS.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/nicoyektai.com\/blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_3304.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"597\" alt=\"IMG_3304.JPG\" class=\"blog-flex\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Show for 2012 will open on August 3rd with a reception from 4-7pm and run through August 19th<\/p>\n<p>The show will be on view Sunday -Friday 1-5pm and Saturday 9am- 5pm<\/p>\n<p>I will be introducing a new sculpture this year called &#8220;Pinch&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here is a preview, I hope to see some of you at the opening.<\/p>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/nicoyektai.com\/blog\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_4619.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"1067\" alt=\"IMG_4619.tiff\" class=\"blog-flex\" \/><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Springs Invitational is one of those Hamptons staples.
